I was a masters student at Carnegie Mellon's School of Computer Science.
As an international student, I encountered racist behavior several times in my time on campus. There are two notable incidents:
First, during the departmental dinner event, a faculty director's spouse made racist comments about my country and low-income populations.
Second, one of the SCS faculty members made similar [racist] comments about people from my country and treated me very badly.
Also, there is a hidden hierarchy of superiority where faculty members from the computer science department treat students/people from other departments with inferiority. Also, CMU earns huge amount of money from its MS programs; they need to stop treating students as cash cow generators and start reflecting on their culture.
