“My race and ethnicity have been tied to my socioeconomic status from friends of mine. And it feels like they have set lower bars for me simply for being a minority. I have gone through feelings of rejection and tried fighting to have my identity noticed here. But ultimately, I have grown numb to the alienating forces of this school’s student body. This is something that, sadly, I feel a lot of my peers have felt also.”
